He represents clients in protecting, managing and enforcing their intellectual property rights, including transactional matters, such as distribution, agency, licensing, technology transfer, software development, outsourcing and service level agreements.

In his former position (with PricewaterhouseCoopers), he was the European Project Coordinator and subject-matter expert for the sunrise validation projects that have been conducted in the context of the launch of the .eu and .mobi top-level domains. These projects are generally considered to be the largest IP audits that have ever taken place. Since 2007, Bart has directed the intellectual property verification projects for the DotAsia Organization (.ASIA) in Hong Kong, doMEn (.ME) in Montenegro, and SIDN (.NL) in the Netherlands.

He is also acting as an advisor to the United Nations and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) on certain information technology and intellectual property issues.

Bart holds a Law Degree (1998) and a Master in Business Law from the University of Antwerp (2001), a Master degrees in Intellectual Property Law (1999) and Corporate Law (2000) from the Catholic University of Louvain (KULeuven) and the Catholic University of Brussels (KUBrussel). He is a researcher at the Law Faculty of the University of Antwerp and the Brussels-based Institute for European Studies. He teaches on a regular basis at the University of Antwerp, the Karel De Grote-Hogeschool and the University of Alicante (Magister Lvcentinvs) on intellectual property matters, more in particular technology transfer, the legal aspects of ICT, domain name dispute avoidance and dispute resolution.

He is also a regular speaker at various national and international conferences and seminars.
